Fitness industry leaders on board for Fitness+Wellness Australia.

12 August 2020 / — Australia’s leading fitness suppliers have joined the exhibitor advisory board for Fitness+Wellness Australia – Australia’s first, independent and stand-alone B2B trade show for the fitness, health and leisure industry.

Co-founder and Event Director, Shaun Krenz, highlighted the important role the new advisory board will provide in ensuring the event meets the high expectations of commercial stakeholders.

“The advisory board plays a critical role in helping us shape the development and strategic direction of the event for our partners. Identifying audience verticals, ascertaining the right product mix and providing feedback on how we can better meet the needs of the industry from a business-to-business event perspective are some of the themes we will explore with the board,” said Krenz.

Fitness+Wellness Australia is being curated to meet the needs of owners and operators of fitness facilities of all types across all verticals. The event will deliver a comprehensive offering – from business education to one-on-one meetings to sourcing the latest equipment, technology and products for new and renovated facilities, as well as solutions to help operators grow their business.

“The enthusiasm for a business-led event has resonated well with industry leaders, and the level of insight shared with us already has been invaluable,” Mr Krenz said. The make-up of the board will continue to grow and evolve with an invitation for other stakeholders to become involved, as well as an operator’s advisory board to follow.

“The ideas and feedback from the group have already contributed significantly to our plans but as we move forward, I’m keen to hear from anyone else who would like the opportunity to be part of this important movement.”

The board so far consists of:

Managing Director of Johnson Health Tech, Michael Conlan said he was delighted to be involved with the board and contribute to the success of the inaugural event. “I was excited to see the announcement surrounding the launch of Fitness+Wellness Australia. Within our industry, there is a need and desire for a fresh new approach to a B2B event, one that engages participation from not just the traditional gym market but also associated vertical markets.”

Tony De Leede from Wellness Solutions said that a holistic approach to Fitness+Wellness Australia is what got his attention. “Health and wellness are essential vehicles to progress forward in these tumultuous times. The fitness industry understands this but what really excites me is the intent to provide a platform that connects with decision-makers across verticals you wouldn’t normally see at a traditional fitness show. The opportunity to meet professionals across a variety of industry sectors and to inform them on how to transform their place into a wellness space is quite a powerful offering I believe.”

Brendan Davis from Synergy Fitness has over 20 years’ experience attending trade shows in this region and was becoming frustrated by the lack of cut-through in what was being pushed out. “I was thrilled when I heard about Fitness+Wellness Australia and delighted to have been asked to be part of the Advisory Board. Here in Australia, there is a need for a focus on bringing together a curated audience of decision-makers from all types of fitness and leisure facilities.”

Australia needs an event like this according to Ed Zouroudis from Evolt. “No one has put together an independent B2B event for the fitness industry, at this scale before, nor given suppliers and operators the opportunity to voice their needs, and the timing couldn’t be better. To have a showcase of innovation happening here, but also to help the local fitness business community navigate their way forward in what will no doubt be a very different world is absolutely needed.”

“With so many different components to fitness and with the rapid change our industry is experiencing, it can be difficult to stay ahead of the game and be across all the innovation,” commented Bass Halabi from Rogue Australia. “What really engages me about FWA is not only the potential to form new commercial partnerships with operators who are serious about the success of their programs and facilities but also the importance the organisers are placing on delivering other vertical markets that reach beyond the traditional gym sector.”

Additional information about the event including date and venue will be announced shortly.
